As part of my effort to blog about influencing culture and ways of working, I wanted to share this. A few years ago I set out to try and influence and change the culture at John Lewis. The timing was ripe, and I set-up and ran our first hackathon. I appreciate hackathons are fairly standard/old hat now, but at the time most people had never heard of what that was. Design teams had only ever had their time used for production. We’d never taken time out to try something. Below is the rather naff corporate video but it should give you a flavour.
Following this, event I then used the buzz and hype around it in the business to influence and change the culture.
